On my most recent trip for a dental cleaning, I was complimented by my hygienist for the lack of stains on my teeth for a change. I told her it was because I’d more or less stopped drinking Coke since diagnosis with Type II diabetes. She was impressed as the caffeine habit was pretty hard to kick.
Phil: “Oh, I still get my caffeine fix. I drink coffee now.”
Hygienist: “Coffee? You don’t have any stains though.”
P: “Oh, well, it’s stuff I make for myself specifically to cut the acidity and bitterness so I don’t have to add sugar. Also don’t have to drink much of it either to get my fix.”
H: “Well, without the acid it won’t etch itself into your teeth. That’s why you don’t have any stains.”
Hot damn. Yet another benefit to add to the list.
